Laleh Saati was sentenced in March 2024 to two years in prison and a two-year travel ban on charges of “acting against national security through communication with Zionist Christian organisations.”

Ms. Saati was arrested in February 2024 during a raid by security forces at her father’s home in Tehran. This Christian citizen was interrogated by intelligence agents for over a month and then transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison.

On 16 March 2024, this Christian citizen was tried by Judge Iman Afshari, head of Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, on the charge of “acting against national security.” The charge was related to Ms. Saati’s religious activities, including her attendance at house churches after returning to Iran, and the content on her mobile phone, such as a photo and video of her baptism in Malaysia and images of her other activities in a church there.

According to published reports, this Christian convert, imprisoned in Evin, has been deprived of access to medical facilities and specialised examinations, and there is grave concern for her health.

**Greetings my courageous sister,** I hope this letter reaches you and fills your heart with peace and hope. I know these days are hard for you, but remember that the Lord is always by your side. As it is written in Romans 8:38-39: **"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."** My sister, not even prison nor the sword can separate you from the love of Christ. He is always with you, holding you in His arms. I too have been sentenced to 5 years in prison, and by the strength of our Lord Jesus Christ, we will stand firm to the point of death. I believe that God will use this time for the glory of His name and the advancement of His kingdom. As it is said in Isaiah 41:10: **"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."** The Lord has promised to be with us and help us in every situation. He will never leave us alone. My dear sister, these 2 years may seem difficult, but know that this is just a season in our lives. God is using this time to make us stronger and more mature. As it is stated in James 1:2-4: **"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."** This is an opportunity for our faith to deepen and to experience God's love more. Remember that you are not alone. All of us who are in Christ are with you in heart and spirit. In Philippians 4:13 it is written: **"I can do all this through him who gives me strength."** Hold this promise in your heart and know that Christ will give you the strength to overcome these hardships. Dear sister Laleh, in closing, I want to gift you these words: **"The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and for evermore."** (Psalm 121:5-8) Always remember that you are beloved of the Lord, and He will never forget you. I am praying for you, just as you prayed for me when I was in solitary confinement in 2022 and my Lord Jesus Christ visited me and the prison doors were opened to me. I am certain that the Lord is with you and by your side, and He will make a way for you. Seek the Lord's strength every moment and seek His face. With much love and many prayers, [Pedram Tabriz]
